At Claridge Court, there’s a continuum of care that starts with independent living and progresses to on-site assisted living and to skilled nursing care. Life Care takes you smoothly and efficiently through each level, if necessary, with gentle transitions and sensitivity to your needs.

Life Care: Beyond “Continuing Care”

Today, there are many “continuing care” communities but far fewer actual “life care” communities.

What is the difference? Traditionally, Continuing Care Retirement Communities require an entry fee plus monthly maintenance fees in exchange for an apartment, meals and various other services up to but NOT INCLUDING health care at the skilled levels.

A “life care” community must provide health care coverage FOR LIFE in an on-site skilled nursing center at little or no increase in the apartment monthly service fee. This is a guarantee that if the resident’s resources are exhausted they will not lose their residence or their benefits. No such guarantee exists in the normal Continuing Care Retirement Community agreement.
